Caitlin Canty Newsletter - Nashville, Midwest, Josh Ritter, New Video, Vinyl
A bird in my backyard has the same call as my cell phone ring. There's a hawk squawking, a woodpecker pipping, and that damn bird mimicking my phone. I'm not complaining - I love this racket. I'm sitting out here with my dog in the half shade wishing I never had to leave while looking forward excitedly to leaving. Wonderful once-in-a-blue-moon shows are in my rearview and just up ahead. Luckily tonight is the best of both worlds - a hometown show!
I'll bring my record release show to my new hometown tonight (5/9) Noam Pikelny and I play Nashville's renowned Station Inn. Tickets are only available at the door and music hits right at 9pm. Noam and I have been playing duo shows out west and in the Northeast around one mic, just how the songs sounded before we went into the studio. This is our last night on the record release tour. I'm just coming down from last weekend's run opening for Josh Ritter. It's a thrill to open for this powerful songwriter and hear his songs in an acoustic show with Zack Hickman on bass. They even invite me up for the encore to sing along. I'll be out with the boys next weekend as well in the northeast, singing my heart out and racking up miles on Southwest. TICKETS
The final spring leg of the record release tour reunites me with Eric Heywood and my favorite venues in the Midwest including my annual two night stand at Wisconsin's most beautiful old barn. Maya de Vitry (The Stray Birds) will open select dates and join the band. It's no stretch to call me a superfan of her music. I'm honored she's supporting these special record release shows and sharing her new ridiculously wonderful songs. Join us.
Live From Layman invited me in to record a few songs live in front of the cameras. These gorgeous videos were shot just as the sun was going down and I couldn't be happier to share the first release, "Who" recorded live with Noam Pikelny, Paul Kowert and Stuart Duncan here in Nashville.

VINYL HAS ARRIVED
Heavy boxes of Motel Bouquet LPs arrived on my doorstep and they are taking off one by one to good homes. Though it took much longer than promised to get my hands on them, I couldn't be happier with how they sound. Only available at my shows or caitlincanty.com
